The tonsils are areas of lymphoid tissue on either side of the throat. An infection of the tonsils is called tonsillitis. Most commonly, the term “tonsils” refers to the palatine tonsils that can be seen in the back of the throat.

Allergens( artificially coloured sweets, grapes, bananas, cold food or drinks etc.
Weather (cold weather, damp climate or change of weather.)
Genetic tendency.
Symptoms:
Throat pain
Difficulty in swallowing
Fever with chills
Snoring
Disturbed sleep
Weakness
Body pains
Headache
Loss of appetite
Halitosis
Tonsilloliths are white or cream or yellowish coloured crypts or pockets which are formed on the tonsils. These are seen in chronic tonsillitis. These give a strong unpleasant odour.
